Old Crow Gravel Grind (Aust Day Weekend)

Join us in Crows Nest on the Australia Day Long Weekend for the inaugural Old Crow Gravel Grind.

It's not just a ride it's a weekend of celebrating Australia Day and all that is great about Gravel riding.

We're keeping this event pretty simple which means we will organise the riding part and you look after your accommodation.

To assist with that we have booked out all 10 rooms in the Grand Old Crow Hotel for both the Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of January. Remember that Monday 27th is the Public Holiday.

To book your accommodation at the Grand Old Crow call them on 4698 1108. When you call tell them that you are booking with the Kent Beasley group (all rooms are in my name). You can book for either the 25th or 26th or for both nights.

You are most welcome to make other accommodation arrangements or even just turn up early on the Sunday for the ride.

We're keen to make this a social weekend not just a ride so would love to see people come up on the Saturday and join us for dinner and drinks at the Grand Old Crow Hotel.

Sunday is about getting out on the luxe gravel around Crows Nest. We'll get away pretty early to beat the heat (START TIMINGS TO BE ADVISED). It's NOT a race it's a day to enjoy our magnificent country, meet some new friends and enjoy a post ride beverage. The rides will be supported and there will be a mid-ride stop at Cabarlah for coffee/cold drinks for those doing The Pint Ride.

We are offering 3 distances and in keeping with the Aussie Day Pub Theme the rides will be known as follows...

The Pot - 34km and 570m elevation

The Schooner - 49km and 830m elevation

The Pint - 70km and 1120m elevation

Important ride details...

• Ride starts and finishes at Crows Nest. Registration will be in the park opposite the Grand Old Crow Hotel (Time TBA)
• This not a beginners ride and you need to be capable of riding both the distance/elevation of your selected ride as well as the surface conditions ie. mixed surface gravel and bitumen roads
• ALL roads are open to traffic throughout
• MTB and Gravel Bikes are suitable along with E versions of these
• Riders will be expected to have downloaded the route prior to commencing the ride (Available at least 2 weeks prior to the event)
• Riders need to be self-sufficient with food, water and spares
• ALL riders must attend the ride briefing and sign the waiver prior to riding

The ride will finish at Crows Nest with post ride coffee at My Little Blueberry.

After coffee it's time to store the bike and head back to the Grand Old Crow for post ride beverages and to enjoy the rest of Australia Day.
